Lacen Lee Isamu Kaleoaloha Kawachi, 4, of Hilo died July 6, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born May 27, 2009, in Hilo.
Friends may call at noon June 20 at the New Hope Fellowship in Hilo for a 2 p.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by father and mother, Lance Lee Kawachi and Shawnie Kawachi of Hilo; sister, Kirsten Kawachi of Hilo; paternal grandfather, Randall Kawachi of Hilo; paternal grandmother, Katherine Kawachi of Hilo; paternal great-grandfather, Takeshi Kawachi of Hilo; maternal grandparents, Joan Thompson Pagan and Leonard Pagan of Hilo; maternal grandfather, David Iaukea of Mountain View; maternal great-grandmother, Priscilla Thompson of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Richard Swangel Sr.
Richard Wayne Swangel Sr., 66, of Ocean View, died July 6, 2013. Born Jan. 23, 1947, in Montezuma, Iowa, he was a carpenter.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 20 at Kahuku Park in Ocean View for a memorial potluck.
He is survived by sons, Dale Swangel, of Phelan, Calif.; Richard (Kari) Swangel Jr. of Kealakekua; daughters, Dawn Swangel of Fayetteville, Ark., Dianna (Mike) Love of Quail Valley, Calif., and Donna Billaber of Santa Clarita, Calif.; father, Donald (Carole) Swangel of Riverside, Calif.; mother, Ruth Kelly of Beaumont, Calif.; sister, Marcia Derrick of Beaumont, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Lane Bowman
Lane Hansford Bowman, 65, of Ocean View, died May 20, 2013 at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 20, 1947, in New Orleans, he was a self-employed painter and a U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.
Friends may call at noon July 23 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for interment.
He is survived by daughter, Jessica Bowman-Macy, of St. Augustine, Fla.; son, Bryce Regazzi, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sister, Nancy Bowman-Emmons, of Shingletown, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two nieces.

Dorothy Gillespie
Dorothy Marie Gillespie, 97, of Pepeekeo died June 29, 2013, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born March 27, 1916, in Albert Lea, Minn., she was a homemaker and former Girl Scout leader. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star and a member of Kaumana Drive Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 20 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Memorial service begins at 4:30 p.m. The family requests aloha attire be worn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of Hilo, 1011 Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
She is survived by sons, Larry (Shirley) Gillespie of Lake Stevens, Wash., Philip (Susan) Gillespie of Honomu; daughters, Karen (Carlos) Moller of Pepeekeo, Thea (David) Beaudet of Pepeekeo; brothers, Neal Petersen of Albert Lea, Minn., Alton (Maryann) Petersen of Austin, Minn., Harris Petersen of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Marcella (Jim) Minear of Albert Lea, Minn., Harriet Wangen of Albert Lea, Minn.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Elodie “June” Hohner, 84, of Kailua-Kona died July 8, 2013, at her home. Born May 24, 1929, in Lodi, Calif., she was a retired bookkeeper for William C. Hohner Construction.

She is survived by daughter, Sharly (Steven) Ward of Kailua-Kona; son, Thomas Hohner of Sacramento, Calif.; granddaughter, Sarah Kawasaki of Kailua-Kona; great-grandson, Keoni Gali of Kailua-Kona.
